Herbert Simon was born in 1916 and died in 2001. In 1978 he won the Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences award “for his pioneering research into the decision-making process within economic organizations.” At the time he won the Nobel Prize, he was a Professor at the Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
